Lipgloss makes my lips swolen?

i just got a NYX lipgloss a while ago and after i take it off my bottom lip is a purpley-red color and its a little swolen. does anyone know why? i know the colow of my lips isnt because of the lipgloss because the lipgloss color was a pale nude color. thanksss!:) xoxo
