HELP on GT5 I'm stuck in auto-pilot mode.?

Me and my brother were playing a endurance race, and I'm not sure what he did, but somehow were stuck in auto pilot mode, and the AI won't go into the pit so were loosing the race. Is there anything we can do to get it off auto pilot or are we going to have to quit.
