How to delete a sent file in outlook express?

I have a computer that has a sent file from years back and I am guessing that it has a bad address but oult look will not let me delete it. it says that it is sending it and it will not let me do anything with it while it is sending. I took the compute off of the internet and I turned off auto send , but still no luck. thank you.
