IPhone 4 question!? Please help me^ ?

Hi I have the white iPhone, and whenever I type the word "me" it auto corrects it to "me^" with a carrot symbol on it?! It's never done that before and it's so annoying. Is there anything I can do besides deleting it or taking off autocorrect? It's never been like that!
